Can I just say how much I like the acid print of my top. And that it’s dominantly in my favorite color as well. Paired it with satin shorts and clogs, and then added the necklace to spice it up. Hence, what I wore to my nephew’s birthday dinner celebration.

I’m sorry that I haven’t updated my blog in so long. I’ve been pretty busy with the lots of stuff going on in college. Ugh I hate how I wasn’t able to take any outfit photos of the past few clothes I’ve been wearing to parties. Okay seriously though, I’ll try to do an outfit post again when I can. Nonetheless, outfit post or not, I’ll still do my best to update my blog regularly as much as I can.

Photograph, Give Me Something To Remember

This photo was taken a few weeks ago when some of my close friends and I went on a quick joyride around San Jose, or to be exact, we spontaneously decided to go to a nearby barrio to take some pictures at the riverbank (note: there aren’t really any tourist spots or malls in this humble hometown of ours, so we had to make do with the places that could serve as a good setting for a so-called photoshoot. Haha!). After all, it’s going to be months before we see each other again since we’re going to be busy and going our separate ways for college, so we might as well make some more memories together while we can, right?

So anyway, here is a photo of me with the four amazing girls who have been like sisters to me ever since we became great friends way back in freshman year. I miss them so much already, and I can’t wait until we see each other again in a few months.

I’m already in Manila right now and staying at my sister’s place for a while. Starting tomorrow night, I’ll be staying at a dormitory in the Ateneo de Manila University. I’m still nervous about the fact that I’m starting a new life in a new school (I’ve never been a new student since nursery, true story) and that I’ll be living semi-independently starting tomorrow. Ah well, the things I do for the love of studying in my dream college.  😉

Birthday Surprise + Class Reunion (well, sort of)

May 25, 2012

May 24, 2012

Last Tuesday, some of my classmates and I came up with a plan to surprise our AP teacher since freshman year and senior class adviser, Teacher Liza, on her fortieth birthday. Since her birthday falls on summer vacations, this was the first time that her students have  made an effort to visit her in school for her birthday. It was also great that I was able to see some of my high school classmates again after so long; most of them I actually haven’t seen since graduation. 🙂

Special thanks to our computer teacher, Teacher Heart, for helping us plan this surprise in more ways than one.

Once again, happy birthday, Teacher Liza! Hope you’ll always remember how much IV- St. Matthew class of 2012 loves you. We’ll forever be grateful  to you for guiding us throughout our high school years. 🙂

What I wore during Mothers Day dinner last week with the fam bam. We stayed at The Lighthouse in Subic for the weekend to celebrate my mom’s special day. Anyway, moving on to my outfit, I decided to go for a bohemian look for a change. I actually haven’t worn this skirt in months, and it’s good to finally be able to wear it again as the key piece of this whole look, along with the earthy color tones. Compared to my other outfits, I wore minimal accessories for this one. But of course, no outfit of mine would be complete without at least one eye-catching accessory, and these tassel earrings look great with the rest of my outfit, don’t you think? Also, I like the subtle neckline details on my tank top, and how it doesn’t clash with the necklace at all (although I think it’s hard to notice when you look at the photos). Even though I rarely wear bohemian-inspired looks, I like how this one turned out. What do you think?

What I wore to the Candy Style Awards last week. Since it was obviously a fashion event, I decided to put together an outfit that describes my personal style almost exactly, if not completely. I’d like to think that this look is somewhat preppy-meets-girly, with the oxford shirt, satchel, and floral skirt being the key pieces to achieve it. Of course, no outfit of mine would be complete without some accessories, so accessorize it is with my favorite pieces.  And since I knew that I was going to walk and stand a lot during the awards night, I decided to wear my high-enough-but-comfy-enough wedges.

So yeah, I think this is probably my favorite signature outfit as of now. What do you think?

The Candy Style Awards ’12

May 11, 2012

May 4, 2012

The experience of attending the first-ever Candy Style Awards last week can be described in one word: awesome. I had a great time with my cousin Mariel, my schoolmate (and fellow fashion blogger) Chin, and Aila (whom we just met while waiting for the event to start). It was also a pleasure to be able to meet my favorite fashion bloggers in person. Yes, I was somewhat starstruck even though I’ve already seen some of them in person before. The other awardees, who are mostly local celebrities, are also just as deserving to be awarded with their respective awards. Although unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture with most of them, but at least I was able to take a picture with some of the Candy Cuties. And can I just say, the decorations and design for the event, which was held at the Rockwell Tent, was the perfect balance of sweet and glam. In other words, it totally screamed “Candy girl”. Needless to say, the event was a huge success.

If you guessed that these are Kryz Uy and Tricia Gosingtian, then you’re correct! Needless to say, my friends and I got starstruck from the moment we spotted them.

Queue proud sister moment. (Note to self: Why am I not THIS photogenic?)

That moment when almost the entire female population in the venue was screaming their hearts out from the moment Ivan Dorschner stepped onto the stage to present an award (presenter pa lang siya sa lagay na yan) . And yes, I’m proud to say I was one of them. Haha!

Rammy Bitong.

Teejay Marquez.

Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. Julia wasn’t able to attend, though.

Megan and Lauren Young.

Clara and Arkin Magalona.

Another round of fangirl screaming ensued as this video of Mario Maurer was shown. And yes, I’m still one of those screaming fangirls. (Can you honestly blame me?)

Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona.

Tricia Gosingtian.

Laureen Uy.

Patricia Prieto.

Kryz Uy.

Congrats for the success of the event, dear sister. (You’ll probably say I’m being cheesy when you read this. Haha!)

Yup, I’m definitely looking forward to the next one! 🙂

There isn’t really a definite reason for the title of this entry, expect for the fact that I’ve been playing that song by Maroon 5 on repeat and non-stop for the last two weeks. I think I’ll grow sick of it soon if I don’t stop now, though. Haha! The tune is just so catchy and I really like the lyrics.

Anyway, moving on to my outfit. This is what I wore during our last day in Palawan, where we toured a few more places around Puerto Princesa City before catching our flight back to Manila late in the afternoon. I kept look fresh and simple since we walked a lot during that day and there was a 98% chance that the temperature is going to be annoyingly hot. I bought these sandals specifically for the trip, by the way. The subtle stud-like details are so cute, don’t you think? I bought those feather earrings from one of the souvenir shops we checked out. Also did print-mixing for this look, so that it wouldn’t look so blah.
